Make My Mark has provided 26 young people with funding, a mentor, and a support network, to help them maximise opportunities, achieve success, and realise their full potential.
Take a closer look at some of the young people we have supported on their journey.
meet giedre
Introduced to Make My Mark by one of our partners, Urban MBA, Giedre applied for and was awarded a grant in 2018.
Giedre has used this opportunity to explore the relationship between body, mind and physical movement, and how this could positively impact how women from different walks of life and age groups think and feel about themselves.
meet isaac
Isaac's aspirations be a film-maker and producer were hampered by a lack of funds to buy the equipment that he needed to tell the stories of his local community.
A previous participant of the Peabody Young Voices scheme, Isaac's application to Make My Mark in 2020 was successful. Isaac received funding, and was also matched with a mentor from the creative industry who passed on key learnings from his own journey.
meet reema
Self-funding her Masters in Medicine was intense, and demanded that Reema take on additional hospital night shifts as well as administration work at her local GPs.
Encouraged by Make My Mark and Peabody to apply for a grant, Reema was shocked when she was informed that she had been successful. Reema was able to leave behind her financial insecurity, and focus on her goal to qualify as a GP and work closely with the Clinical Commissioning Group to help local people, particularly those struggling financially.
